From Varadaan
Recently I was approached by a private foundation, and given the opportunity to give away some money, with the possibility of this process becoming an annual event.
Wanting to see the most benefit come from a moderate amount of cash, I have opted to present the Sustainable Culture model of human cultural evolution, using the money as a lure and means to present the material which I began to develop over 10 years ago.
Some of the best minds have work that is integrated into this model, although it was originally developed independently of them: the 12 Sectors are closely related with the work of Barbara Marx Hubbard- in fact, her organization has adopted the Seed Logos into the Peace Room Project; The 8 Levels of Spiral Dynamics have been integrated into the work of Ken Wilber with his 4 Quadrants. It all makes sense and integrates together because this is universal truth, and the Seed Logos itself draws from ancient traditions: Ayurveda, Qabbalah, Native American Traditions, 5 Element Theory, and the Chakra System of the Vedas. Go to the ÒtheoryÓ section of the website for more details.
A couple years ago, I dropped this project and went to India to deepen my own spiritual development, although the spiritual dimension of the Seed Logos is quite profound and is one of the maps that led me through this recent journey of discovery, ultimately to a place of consciousness beyond mind.
And yet, we inhabit a body, and we are wise to take good care of it. Likewise, we inhabit a world, sharing it with many beings and people, some of whom we may not always agree with, and yet, we are collectively wise to take care of our planet. But with all the wars, corruption, poisoning, tree cutting and other mayhem going on, mostly in the name of a false God called Money, what are we to do? In the Seed Logos, economics- the exchange of matter-energy, is found at the root, the base of the mandala while spiritual principles are found at the top, the head of the diagram. Throughout most of humanity, the core priorities are upside down, but only because most people have yet to connect with their birthright, their true spiritual potential. The game is nothing but spiritual evolution Ñ individually and collectively.
It all starts by changing the way people think, the way organizations and governments are organized, the way money is spent, the way planning is done. There is a need to understand what is rotten, what is inadequate, what needs special treatment, just as a physician assesses the life systems of a patient. It all starts with a conversation, and thatÕs what we are hoping to stimulate.
So, this year a few of us will be reading grant applications, we hope to get a lot of participation. One of our goals is not just to figure out who to give some money away to this year, but also to collect information on who is doing the work. This year we will focus on Boulder County, but are quite willing to look at proposals from any state bordering Colorado. Another year we may take the process, and the conversation to another community, somewhere else in the world.
