SUSTAINABLE CULTURE MINI GRANTS

New for 2006, the mini-grants program is a way to present the Sustainable Culture concept to our community and beyond.  As well, it will serve as a means to map the community/region and help to identify where we are strong and where there is room for improvement as we collectively strive for a healthier community and region, and actively work to be better planetary citizens, individually and collectively.

302 PEARL STREET STUDIOS

A place for active experimentation,  the building at 302 Pearl in Boulder, Colorado is a place where workshop space can be rented by the hour the day, the weekend or whatever terms work best for you.  It also hosts the Solstice Institute and Boulder Ayurveda,  and the offices of other organizations as well.  The old part of the building is 108 years old as of 2006, and we have been retrofitting all of the building, bringing an older structure into superinsulated status, without sending the standing materials to the landfill.  Features include extensive daylighting (in process), high performance glazing, unusual insulation technologies, passive solar systems, water purification, a contemplation garden (in process), and outdoor community space.
